   إن الوقف الإسلامي يعد نظاماً نشأ وتطوَّر في ظل الحضارة الإسلامية، فقد عُرفت الأوقاف منذ عهد النبوة وعبر العصور الإسلامية نمواً وتنوّعاً واتساعاً، حيث لم تقتصر على العناية بفئات المجتمع فحسب، بل تعدتها إلى العناية بکل ما يعتمد عليه الناس في معيشتهم، وغطي بانتشاره مختلف جوانب الحياة من النواحي الشرعية، والعلمية، والثقافية، والصحية، والإنسانية، والسياسية، والاقتصادية، والاجتماعية، والخدمية، وغيرها، وتمثل الأوقاف إحدى أهم الأدوات التي تساعد في تحقيق التنمية المتوازنة وتحقيق أعلى فائدة مرجوة للمجتمع إذا أحسن تنظيمها.
   تناولت الدراسة الوقف في الحضارة الإسلامية وبيان مشروعيته، ثم تطرقت إلى تعريفه لغة واصطلاحا وبيان أهم أنواعه. وشرحت الدراسة طبيعة وخصائص مؤسسة الوقف، وأشارت إلى دوره في التنمية المجتمعية عبر التاريخ الإسلامي، وبيان الآثار المترتبة على ذلک.
   هدفت الدراسة إلى تسليط الضوء على نشأة الأوقاف في السودان، ودور الأوقاف في تنمية المجتمعات المحلية بولاية الخرطوم تحديدا وبيان آثاره وذلک من خلال تصميم استبانة احتوت على عشرين سؤالا، وتکونت مجموعة الدراسة في اختيار عينة عشوائية من المجتمع السوداني وهم المنتفعون بهذه الأوقاف حيث بلغ عدد العينة مائة وخمسين فردا. وبعد تطبيق الاستبانة عرضت البيانات وعولجت باستخدام التحليل الإحصائي والنسب المئوية. وقد أشارت نتائج الدراسة إلى الآتي: الدور المتعاظم الذي تخدمه هذه الأوقاف في شتي النواحي منها الصحية والدينية والاجتماعية وهي قد ساهمت بشکل کبير في تنمية هذه المجتمعات مما انعکس أثره على الفرد سواء کان في الصحة أو التعليم أو التدين أو الثقافة المجتمعية، في ضوء هذه النتائج تم تقديم عدة توصيات أبرزها ضرورة انتشار ثقافة الوقف بين أفراد المجتمع السوداني داخل الولاية، وسمو مقاصد الوقف، ومشارکته للتنمية المجتمعية فيها.
 
The Effect of Islamic Endowment in the Development of the Sudenese Society
    The Islamic Waqf is a system developed and developed in the light of Islamic civilization. Since the time of the Prophethood, the Waqf has been known for its development, diversity and breadth. Awqaf represents one of the most important tools that help achieve balanced development and achieve the highest desired benefit for society if organized.
    The study dealt with the endowment in the Islamic civilization and the statement of legitimacy, and then touched on the definition of language and terminology and statement of the most important types. The study explained the nature and characteristics of the Waqf Foundation and pointed to its role in community development through Islamic history and the implications of this.
    The study aimed at shedding light on the establishment of endowments in Sudan, and the role of endowments in the development of local communities in the state of Khartoum in particular and the effects of this by designing a questionnaire on 20 questions. The study group consisted of selecting a random sample from the Sudanese community. One hundred fifty people. After the questionnaire was applied, the data were presented and processed using statistical analysis and percentages. The results of the study indicated the following: The increasing role that these endowments serve in all aspects, including health, religious and social, which have contributed significantly to the development of these communities, which has affected the individual, whether in health, education, religion or community culture, in the light of these results Several recommendations have been made, most notably the need to spread the culture of the Waqf among the members of Sudanese society within the state, and the most important purposes of the Waqf, and its participation in community development.
